EXCLUSIVE: Neymar Junior, Live in Lagos

Neymar Jr's 5ive Competition Begins Today in Maracana Field, Ajegunle, Lagos Nigeria.

The Neymar Jr's 5ive is a 5aside street soccer competition. It is an initiative of the Brazil and Barcelona star, Neymar Junior in his strive to give back to the society and the world at large.

The rules of the game is slightly different from the normal rules of such competition. All other rules are similar except that in this game, 7players are registered as a team from which only 5 would be on the pitch at a time. This 5 players will be wearing jerseys number 1 to 5. So, whenever a goal is scored, the team that concedes lose there number 1 shirt's player, lose the number 2 man if they concede again, and it continues like that until they have no player left on the pitch. This is why the organizer has themed this game 'OUTPLAY THEM ALL'. The regulation is 10minutes.

The coordinator in his speech said "This game is hosted by the Neymar we know. He thought of STREET SOCCER because he was also discovered on the street. No prize is tagged to this game, let's play it for fun, prestige, exposure and opportunity. The winner from this zone will qualify for the national contest, then the national winner will be taken to Spain to train with Barcelona B team. As a result of this, some of them might sign a deal". He added.

The initiative is supported by Red Bull. Other supporters include-Nigeria Professional Football League side, ABS FC of Ilorin and Snickers.

The group game kick off today with a 5 nil 'OUTPLAY' of Eagles Victory (B) by Seer Samba FC. More than forty teams register for this game.

The three day game was scheduled to end on Sunday, 26th March, 2017 from today, Friday 24th March, 2017.

PHOTO NEWS: ADIDAS Field, Now A Threat To The Community

Pitch Littered With Rubbish

Adidas Field Turns Dirty Hub
Adidas is an ancient field located adjacent Tolu Schools’ Complex at Olodi-Apapa, Ajegunle Lagos. This field is blessed with white sand that is good for playing. It constitutes about ten different portions of various sizes. There are initially three monkey-pose fields, which are now cut to two in which one is being threatened. There are also two standard pitches, one at the entrance and the other in front of Oluwa/Ojoku Secondary Schools.

Adidas with Ajegunle has produced unnumbered stars that are all over the world.  Notably among them is Super Eagles and Chinese based duo of Odion Ighalo and Brown Ideye. Others are Dare Ojo, Harrison Ibukun, Micheal Ochie, Godwin Aguda, Omoboy Ebesua, Olatuga Ojembe, to mention a few. They are mainly based abroad but with handful of them in the Nigeria Professional Football League. So, whenever a player is said to have emanated from ‘AJ’ as it is fondly called, Adidas field should firstly come to your mind. Other fields in Ajegunle are Maracana and Navy fields.

However, the current horror face of the said ground is alarming, disgraceful, and disappointing. Adidas is gradually becoming a rubbish hub cum a residential site. Some group of ‘Area Boys’ are now confidently and with great temerity selling government’s property to individuals to build residential homes and churches. A resource that belongs to the whole society has been hijacked by some few individuals to make personal gains. They also collect money from Maisharas (dirty disposers using cart) to dump their rubbish on the football field.

I hereby call on the government of Lagos State, headed by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to look into this matter. It is obviously a means to deny potentials the right to exhibit and build on their talents and to discourage sport men and women as the place is now irritating, stinks and disgusting. We are very aware of the economic, social and security importance of sport. Ajegunle community would be very grateful if you can transform Adidas Field to a standard stadium like we have in Agege.

ITESIWAJU EKO LO JEWA LOGUN O.

Suleiman Bakari, Renaissance 2019

RENAISSANCE 2019

Mind is the master and mind over matters in decision taking. Feeble minds collapse in the desert but strong minds courageously cross the desert knowing fully that there is a promise land. Andrew Jackson said "One with courage is majority", the diamond cannot be perfect without friction nor man perfected without trials, dreams can only come true, if only we have the courage to pursue them.

Suleiman Bakari believes that courage is the quality that enables us to rise up to challenges without giving away fear. No man wins a battle if he has no courage to fight, without courage life is dull. Leaders like Suleiman Bakari understand that courageous people are never intimidated by any subject or situation, the fear of failure does not have a grip upon them.

S.B is a man that became irresistible from the masses. His gallant fight against corruption has distinguished him among his contemporary, which is why everyone wants to emulate his transparent lifestyle. We the good people of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing Constituency are yearning for him to come and rescue us from these shackles of legislative malnourishment. Let's entrust our constituency responsibilities to Suleiman Bakari and Insha Allah we would smile collectively come 2019.

For Goodness sake we should be celebrated after his service with the anti-graft agency even if he didn't answer the call from his people, the whole state should be proud of you for your great achievement, you are a property of the state and forever you remain ours, God gave you to Jalingo and the entire Taraba state as gift and with the purpose to serve and here you are on your feet working tirelessly to put smiles on the faces of your people. I am celebrating you, the State is celebrating you, the nation is celebrating you, Jalingo-Yorro-Zing will now and forever celebrate you.

Vote for that man with ears that will listen, not for that man who turn deaf ears when he assumed in to office, vote for that man with eyes that can see not for one who turns blind, vote for that man who can walk at all time not for that who will later turn cripple, vote for that man who could have sleepless night any time he sees his people facing problem, vote for that man with a big heart not those who are heartless, vote for that man with renown mind and ideas not that who is shallow minded, vote for that man who will free you from cage not that who will pay devil to push you in to gutter, vote for that man who will teach you how to fish not for that who will always give you fish, vote for that man who will cry and celebrate with you not for that man who will only celebrate you and let you cry all alone, vote for that man who will be there in good and bad time not that who will only be there when it is good, vote for that man who can serve you like a king not that who will treat you like a slave, vote for that man who will put you first above his family not that who make it for their family, vote for that man who is working like a footballer in a team in which every member’s aim is to score a goal.

Leaving an impression on others is something that is not so easy to do in a global society where most would like to make as big of an impression as possible. If you want to impress others, you are mostly likely to have hustle, crush it, and go big.

Let’s call a spade a spade. This is not a campaign nor propaganda but a sincere tale of a man with integrity, credibility and transparency. His charisma did not affect his objectivity and honesty. He is hardworking and trustworthy, young and agile. All these qualities have been proven beyond reasonable doubt over time. Suleiman Bakari is a typical example of a born leader, he wasn’t made.

Jalingo, Yorro, Zing Federal Constituency, 2019.

EXCLUSIVE: DSS Implicating Letter To The Senate Regarding Magu's Screening

Read the letter Department of State Services (DSS) sent to the Senate which made the Senators to deny Ibrahim Magu confirmation as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC):

RE: NOMINATION OF MR IBRAHIM MAGU MUSTAPHA AS EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CRIMES COMMISSION (EFCC) SECURITY REPORT OF THE NOMINEE

Your letter NASS/CS /SA/01/17/ 08 /02 dated 7th March 2017 requesting for security report on the above named nominee refers.

“1. The security report being requested for on Ibrahim Magu MUSTAPHA the nominee for the Executive Chairmanship position of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has already been submitted to the Senate via this Services’ letter No. SV.114/ 2 of 3rd October 2016 containing fourteen (14) paragraphs.
Please accept once again the assurances of the esteemed regards of the DGSS. F. O. ADAMS For: DIRECTOR-GENERAL, SS.

“2. August 2008, following a search at his residence during the tenure of Farida WAZIRI (AIG/Rtd) as the commission’s chairman, some sensitive EFCC documents which were not supposed to be at his disposal were discovered. He was subsequently redeployed to the police after days of detention and later suspended from the Force.

“3. In December 2010, the Police Service Commission found Magu guilty of “Action prejudicial to state security, withholding of EFCC files, sabotage, unauthorised removal of EFCC files and acts unbecoming of a Police officer,” and awarded him severe reprimand as punishment.

“4. Notwithstanding, sequel to the appointment of Ibrahim Lamorde as Chairman of the EFCC in 2011, he made the return of Magu to the EFCC a top priority. Both men had worked together at the commission when Lamorde served as Head of Operations of the agency. Magu remained a top official of the commission until he was appointed to succeed Lamorde.

“5. Magu is currently occupying a residence rented for N40m, at N20m per annum. This accommodation was not paid for from the commission’s finances but by one Umar Mohammed (Air Commodore/Rtd), a questionable businessman and ally of subject who has subsequently been arrested by this service. For the furnishing of the residence, Mohammed enlisted the Federal Capital Development Authority to award a contract to Africa Energy, a company owned by the same Mohammed to lavishly furnish the residence at the cost of N43m.

“6. Investigations show that the Acting EFCC Chairman regularly embarks on official and private trips through a private carrier, Easyjet, owned by Mohammed. In one of such trips, Magu flew to Maiduguri, alongside Mohammed and the MD of a bank who was being investigated by the commission over complicity in funds allegedly stolen by the immediate past Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

“7. Furthermore, the EFCC boss has so far maintained a high profile lifestyle. This is exemplified by his preference for First Class air travels. On 24th June, 2016, he flew Emirate Airlines’ First Class to Saudi Arabia to perform the Lesser Hajj at the cost of N2,990,196. This is in spite of Mr. President’s directive to all public servants to fly Economy Class.

“8. Investigation also revealed that Magu parades a twin personality. At one level, he is the czar who has no friends, no favourites and is ready to fight corruption to a standstill. However, with a key friend in the person of Umar Mohammed (Air Commodore/Rtd), a controversial businessman, he has betrayed the confidence reposed in him by the present administration. Whereas Magu portrays himself as very secretive, he has fostered a mutually beneficial relationship with Mohammed who, by his confession, approaches ‘clients’ for possible exploitation, favours and associated returns. This was facilitated with official secrets divulged by Magu and from which dealings he is believed to have been drawing considerable benefits.

“9. This was evidenced by the number of official and classified documents he made available to his associates, especially Mohammed. After a search of Mohammed’s premises, a forged letter of the Office of the Vice President, dated 20th May, 2016, was recovered. The letter was a fictitious investigation report from Vice President to Mr. President, requesting for approval to commence further probe into a matter allegedly involving Hon. Minister of State Petroleum. Attached to the letter were two EFCC letters dated 13th April, 2016, and another 24th March, 2016, addressed to the Vice President being investigation reports on the activities of Emmanuel Kachikwu and his brother Dumebi Kachikwu. Similarly recovered during the search were information on assets and personal details of Kachikwu.

“10. Also, following the arrest of three former Airforce chiefs by EFCC, namely, Alex Badeh, Umar and Amosu from whom huge sums of money and property were recovered, Umar and Alex Badeh were arraigned in court. It was only after the arrest of Mohammed by this service that the EFCC hurriedly arraigned Amosu. Mohammed later confessed that he never wanted Amosu tried, describing him as his former boss and he saw in MAGU, a willing accomplice.

“11. Furthermore, findings revealed that in a bid to settle some personal scores, subject placed one Stanley Inye Lawson on a Security Watch Action, while in actual fact Lawson was working in the interest of the Federal Government. However, the action was later expunged following the discovery that Lawson was falsely accused by Magu for personal reasons.

“12. The circumstances surrounding Magu’s return to EFCC at the instance of the former chairman, Lamorde, and their close working relationship ever since is a clear indication of his culpability in the allegations of corrupt tendencies of the Lamorde led EFCC.

“13. To cover his tracks, Magu uses only his police cronies to execute operations. This, coupled with discoveries that such police cronies have acquired a lot of landed property, lends credence to the questions about his integrity.

“14. In the light of the foregoing, Magu has failed the integrity test and will eventually constitute a liability to the anti-corruption drive of the present administration.” 15. Accept the assurances of the esteemed regards of the DGSS, please.

Falana Condemns Senate Rejection of Magu

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr Femi Falana, has criticised the Senate’s rejection of Mr Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Mr Falana described the rejection, based on a security report by the State Security Service, as the height of official ridicule of the office of the President.
According to the human rights lawyer, “It is high time the State Security Service was restrained by President Buhari from sabotaging the fight against corruption by the Federal Government”.
He also said the confirmation hearing hurriedly conducted on Wednesday was illegal, citing the participation of many senators who are either under investigation or being prosecuted by the EFCC.
He described it as a contravention of the Rules of the Senate which stipulates that matters which are sub judice shall not be discussed by the Senate.
Mr Falana, however, noted some other options open to the President.
“Mr Magu’s nomination may be re-presented to the Senate if and when the Federal Government decides to put its house in order.
“Alternatively, the President may allow Mr Magu to remain the Acting Chairman of the EFCC since he was appointed in that capacity pursuant to section 171 of the Constitution.
“But if the President is not satisfied with Mr Magu’s performance, he is at liberty to appoint another person whose nomination will be forwarded to the Senate in accordance with section 2 (3) of the EFCC Act, 2004.”

Lecturer Slaps UNILORIN Students' Union President

The University of Ilorin Students' Union President, Comrade Sobowale Lukman Olawale was today slapped by the Sub Dean of Engineering, Dr Ajiboye while mediating on behalf of students of the College of Health Sciences, Oke-Oyi.

Eminent as he is fondly call said, He left for the CBT centre early and had not even eaten in order to get there early and help the students.

At some minutes past 4pm, He tried soliciting for students of the Department of Nursing, College of Health Sciences, Oke-Oyi who had been around by 9am, to sit for their exam early and go back on time due to distance.
Adding that he was directed to the office of the secretary, Dr Tomori, at the CBT centre. Getting there, he met them talking and decided to wait till they were done talking and Dr Ajiboye noticed him waiting and asked him to step back which he did, and again shooed him away, he again obliged and then told him to get out. He tried explaining that he is the students union president and before he knew it, he dipped his hands in his eyes.

Comrade Eminent challenged him and asked why he would do that, students of the University came to his aid and this almost lead to an uproar but as a leader he calmed the students down and everything got settled.

He also noted that he has gotten an apology from the CBT centre as  regards what happened adding that they thanked him for the maturity and cool headedness he displayed when the incident happened.

However, a reliable source disclosed that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali, has ordered the management to take action against the Sub Dean tomorrow. The Vice Chancellor noted that he is strongly behind the Students' Union President and that action will be taken against the Sub Dean by tomorrow, the source added.

This is as a result of the just concluded meeting of the Students' Union executives and members of the Senate Council with the Vice Chancellor of the institution.

This happens barely weeks after a report emanated from University of Lagos, when a lecturer punished some students by asking them to be on their kneels.
