UNILORIN Begin's Production of Speed Limiting Device
The University of Ilorin has said that its two prototype designs of automobile speed limiting device are attracting corporate investors.
Prof. Sulyman Age-AbdulKareem, the Director of the University's Laboratory to Product Centre, said this on Wednesday after a routine meeting of the Speed Limiter team in Ilorin.
He added that patents on the devices had already been filed and would be ready next month.
The Director, who is also the Coordinator of the research team, disclosed that the university was considering several funding options and raising several questions to get the best from the project.
Age-AbdulKareem stressed that the prospect of an investment model that would allow engineering students to work and study would be exciting.
He said the challenge was to come up with a speed limiting device that could be used to curb accidents on Nigerian roads. Ambali said that he had tested the device on a vehicle and felt comfortable with the researchers' claims.
According to him, the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has also been informed of the developments.

Corruption And The Confused Presidency
The long overdue suspension and investigation of the SGF, David Babachir Lawal for violation of law and due process in the award of contract and his counterpart DG of NIA, Ambassador Ayo Oke for claiming the 'Ikoyi 13' is a clear indication of how confuse the presidency is.
Recall that the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo who has been appointed the chairman of the three man presidential committee to investigate these matters and the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami who is a member of the said committee challenged the allegation against the SGF then and clear him off the charges. That was after their jamboree/presidency investigation. For the same man to be suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari now is a clear indication that these men are incompetent investigators who had failed integrity test and disappointed Nigerians.
I wonder why we spent tax payers money on budgets of EFCC, ICPC, DSS and even NIA that are independent if they cannot be trusted with the responsibility of their primary assignments which is to investigate anyone find culpable. What we have ironically is the Presidency investigating the Presidency whom they once exonerated. In fact, committees are always a bigger lie created to cover small lies.
The Presidency is hereby advised to stop perceiving the National Assembly as opposition but partners in development and that should not stop both arms of government from checking each other. I could remember that it was the Senate that alleged that the SGF through his private firm misappropriate funds meant for IDPs in North East. Sen. Shehu Sani in particular and the leadership of the senate were not happy with the manner in which the allegation was handled by the Presidency.
As a result of this and other issues between both arms of government, many Nigerians who are ignorance of the inner situation are calling the NASS particularly the Senate different negative names. Some move further to asked that the Senate be scrap for carrying out their constitutional duties while some kept asking for Saraki's head.
Gaskia there are so many questions to be answered by the culprits. The NIA DG docked money supposedly meant for national security through his wife who is not a NIA official in a private apartment. Government Agency cannot save money with the CBN again, who is fooling who?
Note that so many lives must have been lost to insecurity which this cash was meant for (according to the liar) since 2015. Help ask him when will they use the money for his 'covert operation', 2025? Ojelu gbogbo.
Based on logistics and the fact that Jonathan/Sambo's fliers was with the cash, I think the cash is remnant of 'Jonathan's dollarization' waiting to be shared.
Finally, My stand like other well meaning Nigerians are:
- I do not trust this committee, even a madman will not speak against himself.
- Establish independent committee that should consist of the likes of Femi Falana and trusted individuals. However, the best is to hand them over to EFCC, why committee that doesn't have prosecution prowess.
- The process should be open for all to see.
- They should be sack and prosecuted accordingly if found guilty.
- President Buhari should not see corruption allegations levelled against any member of his cabinet as embarrassing to his government, they can only embarrass themselves.
We must change our attitude and be Godly if we desire progress as a Nation. This is strictly my opinion.

NIGERIA: THE ONLY WAY FORWARD IS TO RESTRUCTURE OR BREAK HER - Femi Fani-Kayode
Professor Ango Abdullahi is the spokesman and de facto leader of the Northern Elders Forum.
His notorious mendacities and constant submissions and assertions remind me of Shakespeare’s’ profound words in his classic play titled ‘Macbeth’ where he spoke of “a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing”.
A few days ago the Professor claimed that, “the north sustained the entire Nigerian state from 1914 up to 1974”.
This is a lie from the pit of hell. The truth is that the opposite is the case: it is the south that sustains the north and it has been doing so from 1914 up until today.
Lord Lugard was the first Governor-General of colonial Nigeria and the architect of the 1914 amalgamation between what were formerly known as the “northern” and “southern” protectorates of Nigeria.
In 1914 he described the north as “the poor husband” and the south as “the rich wife”. Can someone please tell me how a “poor husband” can sustain a “rich wife”?
It is rather the “rich wife” that sustains the “poor husband” and this has been the case in Nigeria despite the fact that he has been pillaging, raping, beating, abusing, sodomising and cheating on her for the last 103 years.
If not for the south with its kind and gentle disposition, its liberal and cosmopolitan tendencies, its intellectual virility, its generous and accommodating population, its massive mineral and human resources and its never-ending and charitable quest and desire to be its brother’s keeper, the core north would be the poorest and most barren place on earth today. Professor Abdullahi knows this and so do all those that think like him.
Without the south the core north would have been a poverty-striken, land-locked, waste-land and barren desert with little hope and few prospects.
Despite all their pretensions they owe everything to the south That is the bitter truth.
With his disdainful and disrespectful comments Professor Abdullahi has distorted the truth, attempted to revise history, insulted the south and been uncharitable and unfair to his benefactors.
This is a monumental error and a grave miscalculation on his part because gone are the days when southerners can be intimidated into silence.
I say this because a new crop of southern and Middle Belt leaders are silently on the rise. They are proud of their identity, history, culture and ethnic heritage, they have wholly espouse the nationalist cause, they refuse to be cowered, subjugated, intimidated or enslaved and they reject the notion of being being labelled as second class citizens or “drawers of the water and hewers of the wood”.
The problem with people like Abdullahi is that falsehood is in their genes. Their submissions are manifestly dishonest and their words are rooted in deceit, mendacity, doublespeak and, worst of all, misplaced and baseless arrogance.
I believe that 103 years of a forced marriage, an unhappy union and an abusive cohabitation is long enough. There can be no fellowship with the core north because there is no common ground and many northerners view southerners as nothing more than serfs.
We have tried for many years to plead with them to see reason and to let us live together peacefully but they have refused.
Instead they have taken us for granted and they have taken our charity, generosity, kindness and meekness for cowardice, stupidity and weakness.
They insist that In all matters they must always have their way and they must always dominate. They claim that they were “born to rule” and that we were “born to serve”.
They assert that the rest of us are subhuman slaves and serfs. They insist that we live and flourish at their pleasure and that they have the power of life and death over us.
They are the poorest and most backward zone and they have little or nothing to offer yet they insist that they must always wield the power and that they must always lead and rule.
Yet all they bring to the table is rancour, division, strife and conflict, whether it be the quest for perpetual domination or covert support for Boko Haram and the Fulani militias and herdsmen.
I say enough is enough! The only way forward is to restructure Nigeria or break her.
Whether anyone likes it or not I have spoken the bitter truth. I have reflected the minds and hearts of millions of people from the south and the Middle Belt.
Abdullahi and those that think like him must understand that their insults, their arrogance, their lies, their dangerous nonsense and their reckless and provocative historical revisionism must stop.
The south has come of age and more than ever before southern unity and a common resolve has become a reality.
He would do well to learn from the timely interventions of his core northern brothers like Governor Nasir El Rufai of Kaduna state and Emir Muhammad Sanusi 11 of Kano.
Last week, in a direct response to his welcome assertion that “the north is now ready to divide Nigeria”, the two of them said that the core north would not only be the “poorest place on earth” if Nigeria were to break up but that the zone would also be “worse than Afghanistan”.
They are absolutely right.
Instead of insulting our sensibilities with false tales of a glory that never was, Abdullahi should get on his knees and beg the people of the Middle Belt and south for forgiveness for 103 years of core northern and Hausa Fulani cheating, lying, violence, aggression, insults, domination, subjugation, mass murder and ingratitude that we have had to put up with. They should be begging and pleading with us not to go.
It is in the interest of his people to do so and anything less than that would be spitting in the wind.
Permit me to take this opportunity to respond to Alhaji Tanko Yakasai who is often referred to as an elder statesman.
However when he described those that wish to restructure our country as “misguided” and those that wish to exercise their God-given and lawful right of self-determination and peacefully leave Nigeria as “shortsighted irritants” he did not speak or behave like one.
A few months ago he also said that the Yoruba were to blame for everything under the sun and that it was the people of the south west that are “misleading the Igbo” into wanting to secede.
He appealed to the Igbo “not to trust the Yoruba” because they would “lead them astray and later betray them”.
My response to him is as follows: the days of trying to divide the south with absurd and nonsensical tales that are spun and woven by desperate core northern bigots who secretly tremble at the thought of a united southern front are long over.
Again the days of divide and rule and internal colonialism are dead. Whether the likes of Alhaji Tanko Yakasai and Professor Ango Abdullahi like it or not, It is only a matter of time before the people of the south and the Middle Belt liberate themselves from the evil subjugation and bondage of the Hausa-Fulani core north.
If it is the Nigeria that the Legal Advisor of Miyetti Allah (the umbrella group for the Fulani militants and herdsmen), one Mohammed Bello Tukur, has just been appointed as the Secretary of the Federal Character Commission by President Muhammadu Buhari, I assure you that its days are numbered.
If it is the Nigeria where 808 Christians were slaughtered by those same Fulani herdsmen in Southern Kaduna on Christmas day, 1000 others were butchered in Agatu, Benue state sometime last year and yet another 13 were massacred in Southern Kaduna on Easter Sunday, I assure you that the die is cast.
If it is the Nigeria where Igbo youths that belong to IPOB and MASSOB are slaughtered at will, where Shiite Muslims are massacred in their homes and where the sons and daughters of Ile Ife are killed like flies on their own land just for being accommodating, kind and generous to the Hausa Fulani settlers, I assure you that the bell is tolling.
Finally, if it is the Nigeria in which more Christians have been butchered and martyred than ANYWHERE else in the world in the last 67 years I assure you that the countdown has begun.
The latest round of mass murder in Southern Kaduna just last Sunday brings bad memories of this Easter.
Yet today permit me to plant a seed of hope for a brighter day. Our oppressors may have today but tomorrow belongs to us. As long as Jesus sits on the throne ultimately the victory shall be ours.
The price for our new nation has already been paid in blood and nobody can stop it from coming to pass.
For centuries these Amalekites, Chaldeans and Janjaweed butchers have been raiding our cities and villages, setting them ablaze and kidnapping our people to sell as slaves.
We have to fight for our children now or there will be no place left for them to call home.
The fact that some misguided individuals actually believe that this can never happen and that Nigeria can never break serves to prove the level of confusion, ignorance, darkness and delusion that flourishes in their sordid little minds.
Whether they wish to acknowledge it or not, the truth is that If the core north does not retrace its steps, not only will Nigeria break into two or more pieces but people like Professor Ango Abdullahi, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai and all those that come from that zone will suffer immeasurably as a consequence of it.
It is at that point that they will rue the day that they once shed so much innocent blood, that they once subjugated and enslaved the people of the Middle Belt and that they once poured scorn and contempt on the people of the south.

Amaechi Threatens to Sue Fani Kayode, Olayinka Over $43m Ikoyi Apartment's Cash
THE Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has given a seven-day ultimatum to the former Aviation minister, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode; and Mr. Lere Olayinka, the media aide to Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State, to publicly apologise and pay the sum of N1.25 billion to him (Amaechi) for linking him to the seized Ikoyi N13 billion.
Amaechi had through his lawyer, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), written to Fani-Kayode and Olayinka, claiming that he (Amaechi) had been defamed by messages on the duos twitter timeline concerning the controversy surrounding the recovered money.
The immediate past governor of Rivers State warned that there would be stiff legal actions should Fani-Kayode and Olayinka fail to adhere to his demand over the alleged defamatory acts.
Amaechi had in the copies of the two letters dated 14th April, 2017 quoted the offensive aspect of Fani-Kayode and Olayinka respectively as, “The $43 million is Rotimi Amaechi’s. He owns the flat it was found in (sic) too. NIA’s story is fake news! NIA does not keep cash in minister’s flats.”
“The Osborne Towers, a luxury residential complex in Ikoyi, Lagos, where EFCC said it found $43,449,987, 27,800 pounds N23,218,000 on Wednesday is owned by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
“The house was built by Alhaji Adamu Muazu, the former Chairman of PDP, through a loan from GTBank. He could not repay the loan. So, GTBank took over the house and allocated the pent house to Muazu and two flats.
“Rotimi Amaechi bought TWO of the flats (7A and 7B). He then gave 7A to Mo Abdul, the TV presenter, who is suspected to be his girlfriend. But the flat where the money was found belong (sic) to Rotimi Amaechi. This is believed to be cash kept for 2019 elections. Let’s see how the cover-up game goes.”
Apart from the demand for an apology from the duo to be published in five national dailies and their twitter handle, Amaechi specifically asked for the sum of N500 million from Fani-Kayode “as compensation for the malicious and defamatory claim”.
He, however caution that the amount might increase should Fani-Kayode fail to address the situation as expected, while Olayinka was asked to also apologise in five national dailies and pay the sum of N750 million “as compensation for the malicious and defamatory claim” on his (Olayinka) twitter handle.
Parts of the letter to Fani-Kayode read, “The attention of our client has been drawn to your tweet posted on your twitter timeline (@realFFK) where you claimed that, ““The $43 million is Rotimi Amaechi’s. He owns the flat it was found in (sic) too. NIA’s story is fake news! NIA does not keep cash in minister’s flats.”
“In view of the foregoing and in the spirit of a second chance, we have our client’s (Amaechi) instruction to give you an ultimatum of seven days from the receipt of this letter to issue an apology in five national dailies on your twitter handle.

Easter: Jesus Did Not Die To Save The World- Prof. Abioje
Professor of Christian theology in University of Ilorin, Pius Oyeniran Abioje, has dismissed the agelong Biblical claim that Jesus Christ died to save the world.
Speaking while delivering the 167th Inaugural Lecture of the university, Thursday 13th April, 2017, entitled, ‘Christian Prophets and Other Prophets in Nigeria’, the professor said Jesus Christ was killed by haters of truth.
Abioje, who noted that critical prophets should anticipate opposition and conspiracy from unexpected quarters, said: “The conspiracy that killed Jesus Christ came from the millieu of the chief priest and the political elite. “Regrettably, the interpretations by many Christians is that God wanted Jesus to die so as to save the world. Yet the world continues to persecute innocent critical prophets.
“Why cannot Christians emphasise that Jesus was killed by haters of truth, the religio-political powers that be,particularly since the world is still seeking redemption? “Nigerians should learn to see critical prophets as friends of the society, and pardon them whenever they happen to err, since no human being is infallible.”
The professor asked the people in positions of authority to learn to see critical prophets as partners in progress towards human edification, not as adversaries. The university don also admonished: “Divinatory/esoteric prophets should avoid fraudulence.” They should see their divinatory knowledge as divine endowment to be used altruistically and not for exploitation. “People who consult esoteric prophets should be discerning and not gullible. “ They should avoid frequent recourse to divinatory prophecy to avoid mediumistic psychosis”
Abioje also urged Nigerians to strive to become critical prophets to speak against evil on behalf of God and try to live holy lives. He however advised: “Academic programmes generally should include introduction to critical prophecy, which makes a person to be committed to advocacy in godly words and actions, even as medical doctors, engineers, architects, lawyers and so on and not only as clergy men and women.
Virtues for which critical prophets strive is unarguably the key to individual and social progress, even when truth can be very bitter.”
In addition to this, I do ask myself that if Jesus died for our sins, then does it means that the sin man commits today won't be in record?

US Drops 'Mother of All Bomb' in Afghanistan
US says 'mother of all bombs' hits ISIL in Afghanistan
Central Command says largest US non-nuclear bomb used in combat dropped on ISIL caves and bunkers in country's east.
The US has dropped the largest non-nuclear bomb it has ever used in combat in eastern Afghanistan on a series of caves used by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group, according to the Pentagon.
The GBU-43 bomb was dropped on Thursday from a MC-130 aircraft in the Achin district of Nangarhar province, close to the border with Pakistan, said Adam Stump, a Pentagon spokesperson.
Also known as the "mother of all bombs", the GBU-43 is a 9,797kg GPS-guided munition and was first tested in March 2003, just days before the start of the Iraq war.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the strike was designed to minimise the risk to Afghan and US forces conducting clearing operations in the area.
But the ultra-heavy explosive - equal to 11 tonnes of TNT with a blast radius of 1.6km on each side - could potentially cause many civilian casualties.
'Towering flames'
The non-nuclear bomb killed at least 36 fighters and destroyed a deep tunnel complex of ISIL, Afghan officials said on Friday, ruling out any civilian casualties.
"As a result of the bombing, key Daesh [ISIL] hideouts and deep tunnel complex were destroyed and 36 IS fighters were killed," the defence ministry said of the strike.
The bomb landed in the Momand Dara area of Achin district, according to Esmail Shinwari, the local governor.

EFCC Uncovers Huge Sum of Money in Ikoyi
EFCC uncovers huge sum of money to the tune of $43.3m, £27,800 and N23.3m in Ikoyi apartment.
It is another major breakthrough for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in matter of days. The operation followed a whistle blower's confidential alert received by the commission's Lagos office to bust the 7th floor of a four-bedroom residential apartment at Osborne Towers located at 16 Osborne Road, Ikoyi Lagos.
The commission followed reports by sources who are conversant with the house who suspected how people who visits the apartment disguise by putting on dirty clothes and bringing out 'Ghana Must Go' bags with the make believe that the bags contains clothes.
On getting to the building, the house was locked and the guard said nobody lives in the apartment but they come once in a while.
Money was found in two of the four bedroom apartment in a wardrobe housing three fire proof cabinets that contain well-arranged US Dollars, Pounds Sterling and Naira notes in sealed wrappers.
Investigation is still ongoing as the apartment is said to belong to Osborne Towers Resident Association.

Efe Wins Big Brother Naija
Fans favorite, Efe finally emerged as the winner of Big Brother Naija, See Gobbe 2017 Edition.
Bisola and Efe were the last two standing as the strains of 2Baba's "My African Queen" died down it was down to this final moment. Which name was in the Auditor Steve's envelope? With both Bisola and Efe finally managing to rid themselves of their number one arch-nemesis, TBoss, it was down to two names, and one winner. They were told to leave the House and make their way to the main stage finally leaving the House for their last time. Na wa, na real wa!
"It's a mad-house here today." "Can you confirm that these results have been independently verified by Deloitte?" said Ebuka and, as ever, Steve the Auditor said "Yes." Short and sweet. Ebuka then told the Housemates to look at the big screens where picture of the SUV and a money counting graphic on the screen showed how much money that one of them would win.
Naturally, Ebuka took his time and kept everyone in suspense, "Africa, Naija," said Ebuka "The Winner of Big Brother Naija See Gobbe is... Efe." Efe was delighted and rushed across the stage ripping off his shirt. The crowd went crazy as he was a worthy and popular winner. All of the ex-Housemates joined him on Stage as his grin got ever wider.
However, Bisola was announced the winner of ONE.ORG Contest and by so doing became the organization's ambassador.
The Boss lady, Tboss came third while Debie Rise and Marvis follow suit in that order.
Based on logistics, there is no gainsaying that this edition of BBNaija is so entertaining and had so many followers across the world. It's indeed a success. Congratulations to BIGGIE, the finalist and particularly Efe.
And that is how Efe strows home with the #25m prize and a brand new SUV.

FG Commences Online Registration Of Unemployed Nigerians
The Federal Government has said all is set for the commencement of online registration of unemployed persons in the country on Wednesday April 5th 2017.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Information & Public Relations, National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Edmund Onwuliri on Monday.
According to him, the development was part of the federal government’s plan to develop and maintain a robust database of unemployed persons and for job provision.
He explained that the registration was in compliance with the third mandate of the NDE which required it “to obtain and maintain a data bank on employment and vacancies in the country with a view to acting as a clearing house to link job seekers with vacancies in collaboration with other government agencies.”
He said: “The online portal which goes live on Wednesday April 5, 2017, is designed to capture the relevant details of any unemployed person. It will equally serve as a job exchange portal that will link job seekers and employers.
“There will be a practical demonstration of the workings of the portal at the NDE stand at the on-going 28th edition of the Enugu International Trade on Thursday April 6, 2017. However, the portal can be accessed by logging on to www.jobsforall.ng.
“The Directorate sees this initiative as a bold step towards deepening the effectiveness of its employment creation strategies and a critical input into the process of designing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes and schemes.
“The online portal will also serve as a meeting point for job seekers and employers thereby reducing the cumbersome process of recruitment among employers of skilled labour in the private and public sectors.” He added.

JAMB: Reps Summon Oloyede Over UTME 2017
The House of Representatives on Tuesday summons JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is'haq Oloyede, called for the extension of the deadline for the 2017 registration of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The House mandated its Committee on Tertiary Education and Services to liaise with the Joint Matriculation and Admissions Board (JAMB) to ensure that the extension call was honoured.
The Committee is expected to carry out the assignment within one week.
This emanated from the adoption of a motion by Rep. Damburam Nuhu (APC-Kano).
Motion for the extension
In the motion, Nuhu called for one month extension on the exercise, saying that it would create additional time for more prospective applicants to register for the examination.
He said out of over 1.5 million secondary school students expected to register for the examination, only 600, 000 were able to register for the exercise two weeks into the one month period allotted to it.
Inefficient registration centres
According to him, some of the approved centres are registering 250 applicants at a time and most of them are not spacious and do not have adequate computers.
”Some of them have naked wires exposed and are haphazardly arranged on ordinary planks, thus lacking in safety requirement in case of an emergency,” Nuhu said.
He urged JAMB to specify requirements, including safety measures, which qualified any centre to participate in the conduct of the UTME computer-based test.
The lawmaker also stated the need for the House to invite the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, to explain the proficiency of the computer-based process of registration for applicants in rural areas.
At the end of the discussion, the house deems it fit to invite the registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is'haq Olanrewaju Oloyede to explain and enlighten them about JAMB's preparation, safety and possible extension of registration within 48hours.
